We as a group are building benefit web applications to improve our business process, improve client and employee retention, save money on technology and to 'wow' prospects with our technical wizardry.
I have seen many types of software that are 'killer' in how it works and to a tech guy like me I might love it, but I have people that I work with that would make their head spin. Most insurance and benefits professionals are not tech oriented so to them technology has to enhance how they work and not the other way. Apple computers Ipod is a monster hit. Why? Other players have more things in it like an FM tuner and WiFi but still the Ipod dominates. The vast majority of people love elegant design and ease of use. There is some pretty nice software for our industry created by companies. But again a lot of it is 'bulky' and not really used because it is too much. Also most of the user interface is not very nice looking.
